چکیده
Methylphenidate (MPD), a psychostimulant, is the first line drug for improving cognitive performance in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). A non-prescription use of this also becoming increasingly known. growing rise its medical and nonmedical suggests that addictive. The present study was designed to ascertain reinforcing withdrawal effects clinically relevant doses methylphenidate on behavior normal adult rats. Potential addictive cognition were determined.Effects MPD monitored after administration as well using Morris Water Maze test. Taking behavioral sensitization an important contributing factor addiction; determined. Data analysis done SPSS version 13 by one-way two-way ANOVA (repeated measure design) where applicable; post hoc comparisons Tukey’s Repeated oral (0.5 1mg/kg) six days produced reduced daily food intake. After treatment rats repeatedly administered/withdrawal from repeated investigate behaviors. Results showed improvement administered with 1 mg/kg). Whereas, impaired short term memory, long memory retention. Doses which improve learning are potentially elicit sensitization. Use healthy subjects can impair below basal levels particularly conditions.

Behavioral sensitization and cross-sensitization between methylphenidate amphetamine, and 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) in female SD rats.
The psychostimulants amphetamine and methylphenidate (MPD/Ritalin) are the drugs most often used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In addition, students of all ages take these drugs to improve academic performance but also abuse them for pleasurable enhancement. In addition, other psychostimulants such as 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA/ecstasy) are used/abused f...
متن کاملClinically relevant doses of lidocaine and bupivacaine do not impair cutaneous wound healing in mice.
BACKGROUND Lidocaine and bupivacaine are commonly infiltrated into surgical cutaneous wounds to provide local anaesthesia after surgical procedures. However, very little is known about their effects on cutaneous wound healing. If an inhibitory effect is demonstrated, then the balance between the benefits of postoperative local anaesthesia and the negatives of impaired cutaneous wound healing ma...
متن کاملClinically relevant doses of methylphenidate significantly occupy norepinephrine transporters in humans in vivo.
BACKGROUND Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is a psychiatric disorder that starts in childhood. The mechanism of action of methylphenidate, the most common treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is unclear. In vitro, the affinity of methylphenidate for the norepinephrine transporter (NET) is higher than that for the dopamine transporter (DAT). The goal of this study was...

nitric oxide (no) is a small molecule synthesized by most of mammalian cells with diverse biological activities including vasodilatation, host defense and wound healing. impaired wound healing is a common occurrence among diabetics and patients receiving glucocorticoid therapy. on the other hand the application of laser in biomedical area have been increased. thus, the current studies were desi...

Methylphenidate (MPD) is the most prescribed drug for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Licit and illicit use also occurs during pregnancy, however the effects from this use on offspring development are unknown. To model late gestational exposure, Sprague-Dawley litters were treated with 0, 5, 10, 20, or 30mg/kg×4/day every 2h with MPD on postnatal days 11-20 (within-litter design; days...
